goodbye

how is one supposed to say a final goodbye?
I genuinely don't know. That question has been with me all weekend as I sat in the hospital. But the weekend pasted and they are still here but its not looking good.
So how am i supposed to say goodbye?
And with the state they are in can they even hear me?
